Team Romney is promising to put even more money into an already bloated Defense Dept. budget, as if there isn't enough money now.

I'm a strong supporter of our Armed Forces, but when I see things like this, I just hang my head. What ARE they thinking and what ARE they spending our hard-earned tax dollars on?

Do we REALLY need to funnel more money to moronic ideas like this? I mean...gee whiz! I robotic mule? What's wrong with a REAL mule?

I'm betting they could be had for a lot less than this stupid thing.

The defense spending is ridiculous and I work for DoD. This is all about crony capitalism. The big defense contractors that are paid solely with taxpayer funds are best buddies with the politicians. It's not going to stop.

Billions upon billions. Less world cop and more national defence we should be able to trim an easy 25% from the budget and not sacrifice a bit of readiness. That is as long as we keep the earmarks out of the budget.

Its strange that people thru ouit our history want military cuts until like so mnay times people endup dying becvause we were not prepared. Then they holler that americans died just like WWI and WWII.I fact if not for our defense who knows where we would be. All because they want more freee stuff for themselves.Europe would likely be march the russian step if not for our military ;yet people want us to do the same.Pure personal greed is what I see.

I don't think cuts should ever be made down to the level of keeping troops safe. However, I don't think we need to constantly fund the latest "Star Wars" type defense systems, especially when folks over at the Pentagon (you know, the experts?) say that we don't need certain items. You have to be able to look at this objectively and see that some of our politicians/government leaders are not worried about protecting our troops or our country, for that matter. That are only interested in protecting the big businesses that are part of the military industrial complex. There is lots of money, lobbying, and favors going on there.

More never equates to better it only equals more. We can make cuts that matter and not weaken our ability to defend ourselves. How much did parking a carrier battle group off the coast of Haiti cost? Did anyone else send a carrier battle group?
How much does it cost to patrol for Somali pirates? Would it be cheaper to higher security to live on those ships and shouldn't the merchant fleet be paying for this protection?
How was bombing Libya cost effective?
As I said less world cop and we can saave a mint.

I really can't see how a robotic mule is going to make us any safer or better prepared for the next war, can you?
