Heres a quick question for those against id requrements to vote. What would you do if you showed up to vote and were told you cant because you already voted? What recourse would you have if you did not vote? What about if it was done on a large scale?

On the flip side, they're probably already pretty disenfranchised if they're walking around without ID. Think of all the things you need an ID to do... pay with a check, cash a check, drive, enter most government buildings, enter a lot of private buildings, etc...

I don't get the title of this topic. "Voting laws may disenfranchise 10 million Hispanic U.S. citizens"? Only 10 million Hispanics voted in the last election. Is the claim that all 10 million of them don't have proper ID even though they are citizens? WTH?

I think you just thought up a topic to start another thread.
But, it's never been proven by left or right that there has been mass voter fraud. There have been accusations of it, but actual voter fraud is considered to be very small.

I was wondering the same, but now that you mention it, who the heck can believe reuters?

In 2008 ~12 million self identified hispanics voted out of a total hispanic citizen population eligible to vote of ~30-35 million. It's a pretty poor turn out but all of those 30 million plus could have voted. Now with these new laws 10 million of them won't even have the choice to vote even if they wanted to. This means ~1/3rd of legal adult hispanic Americans will no longer be able to vote even if they wanted to.

Do that clear it up for you?

The energy that La Raza puts into wanting amnesty for illegal aliens could be used instead to get American "Hispanics" to get ID.

Sure, it's evil, it's undemocratic, and it is completely anti-American but all of those things perfectly describe the modern Republican Party.

Proving you are a citizen should be used to prevent fraud from 10-25 million illegals.

Makes sense to me.
