There is a real reason to getting rid of public stations. It's not because of Big Bird. lol Business wants to control it like they do everything else. The word public makes them get a cramp. lol
Not really. Many of the public stations have a political bias and that angers the right. Now don't get me wrong, car talk and antiques road show etc. aren't biased but I've heard propaganda pieces on NPR against the industry I work in that were discredited garbage and NPR didn't even have the decency to offer a rebuttal.
If NPR leaned right then they would get more support from the right and it would be the left after thier funding.
It is in the best interests of all the networks to give the impression that this race is close, when in actuality, it isn't. President Obama has a significant Electoral college advantage over Romney. Polls and political commentary are crap this election year, especially when they ignore Romney's enormous flaws and unsuitability for office, and try to bring President Obama down to Romney's level.
Also, the suggestion that Romney can fix the economy is absolutely absurd. This is his entire platform. Just because he has made a great deal of money in business, doesn't mean that he knows how to run this country or fix an economy. President Obama is doing a fine job with the economy given what he was given and the Republican obstructionism he has to face in Congress. Romney adn his ilk are part of the problem, adn any network that doesn't emphasize this is being just as disingenuous as he is.
CNN has not gone far enough to expose the stench that Romney and his ilk represent, so shame on them.
Fox NEWS is the least biased of the major network news channels.
Fox News talking heads slam Obama way too much and let Romney slide way too much to be considered anywhere CLOSE to the least biased of the major news networks.
CNN has James Carville and Ari Fleischer sitting side by side discussing the debate. Same with Alex Castillanos and Van Jones. Their other shows do a similar thing. CNN does present a balanced view of political matters in general, and the debates specifically.
FOX's audience is more middle of the road than any other of the ABC news channels.
FOX's audience has a larger share of Independents and Democrats than CNN has Republicans and Independents.

FOX is more biased than MSNBC (if possible). Today they were fact-checking claims that no one had even made, and then declared the claims as "false". Well, of course they are false, since they invented the claims in the first place. Of course they associated the false claims to Obama, and so they had conveniently created the "news" for the day.
MSNBC and FOX are both biased, just that one is Liberal and one is conservative. MSNBC always attacks Romney lately with liberal commentator Chris Matthews dumbly saying people vote for Romney because of racial hatred and them saying how Obama trashed and is ridiculing Romney while Fox praises Romney a lot and says how they flattened Obama in the last debate which honestly in my view the last debate was a close one, depending on who you support he won.

Obviously, you've never watched Fox. Fox does the exact same thing.
Example: Right this minute, the guests are Susan Estrich and Ed Rollins.
I'll keep you posted on who comes up next.
