It won't really matter. Obama will just elect himself supreme dictator over the U.S.S of A and it will all be over. Say goodbye to the country you know, and if you don't like it, go rot in some FEMA camp. Praise dear leader!

Supreme Court: 20 year initial term, followed by 10 year reconfirmations.
those numbers do not make any sense, 5x2=10, so the President would need to resign 2/5th through their second term
With the senate they would have to resign after 1/3rd into their 4th term

I suspect he's thinking of something like the current term-limit for Presidents, which is two full eight-year terms, but a fraction of a term that is less than 50% which precedes the first full term does not count against the limit (example; Obama resigns on January 21, 2015 -- Joe Biden would become President and theoretically could serve until January 20, 2025, if he managed to get elected twice).

I'd prefer one 6 year term, with the Senate at 6 years, the House at 4 years.

I would alter the Senate and House presently adding 1 year to the term to each seat for one cycle only per seat, as I'd prefer NO Senate or House races at the time we elect a president.

Clearly, the optimal system would be 7 years for Presidents, 5 years for Senators, 3 years for Representatives, and Governors serving 50-month terms with precisely one gubernatorial election happening on the 1st of each and every month in perpetuity.

You all realize a few things right? That the terms were originally set up for a reason, with the House being shortest as it is supposed to represent the "common" man. The Senate, being deliberative, is at 6 to encourage the triumph of reason divorced from the passions of the time while the President's term is long enough to accomplish initiatives but not so long as to entrench the person.

There would also have to be how many Constitutional Amendments?

Why you all want to get terms like the single 6 year one in Mexico is baffling. I'll keep it the way it is.

I've also enjoyed all the people and their "clearly" arguments.

Unlike 1800, a 4 year term = a 2.5 year term followed by 1.5 years campaigning.
A 2 year term = 1 year in office, 1 campaigning.

That is something that needs to stop.

Also, we need 0 Senate & House races at POTUS election time, as weaklings are dragged in via coattails.

You're welcome, just thought I'd remind folks before all you guys in the Wild Hair Up Your Ass crowd got really moving.

Looks like you're one of the "the US needs a Prime Minister" crowd.
