My understanding is the Bush tax cuts only benefitted the wealthy. I don't know how BO could be advocating keeping something that doesn't exist, namely Bush tax cuts that helped people besides the wealthy.
uhm, where is YOUR disconnect with reality? after the bush tax cuts were instituted, we had 54 straight months of job growth, and an unemployment rate that went down to under 5%. it wasnt until after the democrats took back congress in 2007 that things started turning south again.

BUSH was a leader who got the middle class a tax break. Obama plans to let those tax breaks expire --- but he plans to blame that on the Republicans that got them for us in the first place. There will be no Obama tax cuts for the middle class taxpayers -- we can only thank Bush for his leadership and concern for the squeezed middle class.

Democrats didn't push anybody. The banks still should have lent responsibly, but they found a workaround, saw a gravy train with a potential bailout for them, and took advantage. This is not pushing anything. This is just par-for-the-course repub thinking - privatize profits, socialize losses.
Dangle a dollar in front of a repub and he must grab it - no other option. That's what you consider "pushing" a poor helpless repub into doing wrong.

Oh no - the big break was for the super wealthy repub base. Who are you kidding? And repugs are blocking Obama's continued cuts for the middle class, in exchange for more breaks for their wealthy base.

Remember this when you have to tell those idiots in January who are surprised that their taxes suddenly went way up -- those were the BUSH tax cuts that Obama chose not to renew.
