Oh. Over $2M. That's more than $250,000, right? I mean, I get so confused when the 1% are demonized and $250,000 is considered rich BY THE SAME MORONS who feel sorry for "poor widdle Lindsey".

Actually, how ironic that all the "usual (conservative) suspects" here, also seem to be the ones nominating all the nastiest and empty-headed folks!

Oh really? You're calling my dead friend Marie Colvin (who happened to come from a Liberal family) "nasty and "empty-headed"? Really? Shame on you.

Bashar Assad.

Love him or not, he's currently fighting the world and winning. 2 years of an international effort and conspiracy to bring him down and he's still in power, legitimized more than ever to his fans. He's true to his supporters and his country. He's actually done wonders for Syria, but don't expect the media to tell you. They only know how to report "alleged" Syrian army crimes, which pale in comparison to the crimes committed by the American-backed Islamic fundamentalist rebels.

He murdered my friend, a journalist and an American. How dare you even suggest Assad.

That's just not true.

Colvin was in Syria illegally. As a result, the Syrian Regime was not responsible for her well-being. Either way, they had no idea where she was. I believe the rebels killed her to add anti-Assad sentiment from the international community. What would the Syrian Army gain from killing her?

Syria: Sunday Times journalist Marie Colvin killed in 'targeted attack' by Syrian forces - Telegraph

Killed war reporter Marie Colvin: They’re killing with impunity here. I need to be at the epicentre of the storm | The Sun |News

Marie and her French photographer were in a makeshift Press Center when they were fired upon by rockets from the Assad regime. You believe the rebels killed her, do you? What would Assad gain from having her killed?

Quote:
She had also appeared on a number of international broadcast networks, including the BBC and CNN, to accuse President Assad's forces of murder. She said the regime was peddling "complete and utter lies that they are only targeting terrorists".
So when a murdering dictator declares "No journalists allowed" within a country, REAL journalists should just say, "Oh. Ok. We won't try and get the truth out to the rest of the world. Go about your business. Never mind."

I assume you are basing your opinion on this article:

Syria's not responsible for those who enter illegally, group says - latimes.com

Marie is a hero and probably one of the last truly brave reporters we had.

But in a country where a couple million are openly accusing the regime of murder, why would the Syrian regime want to silence an American? Killing Americans brings upon harsh repercussions, one would assume. Assad would not touch Americans when the Americans are playing a role in supporting the rebels and are among Assad's most outspoken critics. He's not stupid.

Your articles cite rebel activists. The rebel activists would accuse Assad of Hurricane Katrina if they could. Their jobs are to spread propaganda. Do you know the nature of most of these rebels? Islamic fundamentalists who would have no problem killing an American woman in a bid to frame Assad.

The truth is no one will ever know who killed Marie Colvin. It just wouldn't be logical of Syria to do, at least if deliberately. May she Rest in Peace.
