Some time ago I posted a story about a city that was voting on sexual rights and they, the voters, managed to defeat the law. Well, anyway, this small town is more or less a bed room community for the larger one. What I am seeing in both cases is that although the FFRF doesn't see the US as a Christian nation the people in that area of the US tend to be pretty Christian. The city is in the process of changing their seal to please the FFRF but the residents are preparing to move a sign that looks like that seal from a public park to private property abutting the park. The people of this area are good Christians of various faiths but not willing to be pushed around by atheists. I live only about 100 miles from the area and have always known it as a very strong Christian region.

The only controversy here is that they were able to use this as the city seal for so long. I'm not a militant agnostic, I celebrate Christmas and enjoy the decorations. However this is so far over the line that separates church from state, I'm shocked people are actually surprised they are changing the seal.

I agree. That sign borders on offensive IMHO.

I wonder if roy would be upset if it was the Islamic crescent rather than a cross on that sign...I wonder if he would want the city to remove it or would he still be upset at the Atheists?

Then you're in luck!! If you leave now you will get there in plenty of time to help them move it.
