What he does for a living is irrelevant to the point he is making. Not taking a philosophical point seriously because you don't like the profession of the person making the point is a sign of intellectual and moral bankruptcy.
Excuse me? He's the one saying "my money" in his opening salvo, so I feel perfectly justified in discussing his money. He chose to frame the discussion as a matter pertaining to him personally, not I.

Then on the other hand we have the likes of Buffet and Google execs saying "Tax me more" and then read how they are sheltering their money and one even gave up his citizenship before cashing in.
Maybe Schiff needs to talk to the rich liberals and find out how they do it so he can do it too and then join the "tax me more" bandwagon.
But, how would you barter? Let's say you have potatoes, and I need onions, but you want tomatoes in exchange for your potatoes. And I have none?
What is more efficient? Going on a mission for tomatoes, or, having some medium for exchange?
Efficiency does not mean necessity.
What is more likely to be a place that can grow wealth?
A nation with a strong military, opportunity for education, vibrant healthcare, police protection and working courts (ALL must be paid for, somehow)...... or a nation with none of the above?

60% of the budget goes for entitlement programs (SS, medicare and means tested). None of that is in your above statement which I bolded. That has to be paid for as well..subsidizing American lives.

That's true but by lumping in need tested entitlement programs you are perhaps unintentionally obscuring the fact that 53% of your 60% goes to citizens 65 and over; 20% goes to the disabled; and 18% goes to the working poor.
No worries. Peter will use Obama-supported tax loopholes to avoid paying money to Obama.
