And then you think of what will happen when the government pisses off of everyone that owns a firearm...

Also think about how many hundreds of millions of people lawfully maintained their firearms and weren't used to commit a crime...

88.82% ?! I guess that defenseless 11.18% expect the rest of us to stand up for their rights for them!

Nice stats. Lets see a stat that shows how many firearms used in crimes were actually used by registered gun owners...

What is the alarming part?

Your numbers fail to mention that a typical gun owner owns 4 firearms, so it is misleading to divide the total number of guns by the population and declare that 8 out of 10 Americans are gun owners. It is not true. 4 out of 10 are gun owners.

Research findings reported by the Harvard Injury Control Research Center:

In the U.S. and other countries, where there are more guns, both men and women are at higher risk for homicide, particularly firearm homicide.

Across the U.S., states with higher gun ownership have higher rates of homicide especially by firearm.

I asked about total murders, not mass killings. Mass killings are a rare thing compared to the numerous murders we see each day in every metro area. What about the rest of the criminals? Are they all registered gun owners? Do they care about a new law banning their weapon? I wouldn't think so, since they maintain a stockpile of numerous illegal guns. So you say ban all guns right? I'm sure the criminals will all happily turn theirs in first

Exactly. Not one gun owner I know owns just one gun. Several are serious hobbyists and own dozens.

The statistics posted by the OP are not really statistics. They are just numbers.
