It's the same brain-dead group that blames every single natural disaster on some "godless" act committed by the affected area. If specifics can't be found, they use that nation as a whole.
They can never explain why there aren't a whole lot of tornados/devastating earthquakes/etc. in areas that are far more secular and homosexuality-embracing than the US.
I don't think it has anything to do with being conservative. It has everything to do with being a non-thinking human being.
It would be more productive to explain your views on the topic, if you agree or not and why, rather than trash people with different views. Do you believe these kids deserved to die as punishment for gay marriage, abortion, illegal immigrants, GM foods and TV dinners?
If James Dobson actually believes this, I am saddened. But to say "conservatives" link this to God's punishment is equally moronic. Conservatives don't!
On the other hand, the "leftists" blamed the incident in which Gabby Giffords and others were shot on Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh (among others). Why is this different? Both are absurd!
Blame for this rests solely with the behavior of one person, the shooter. It is not "God's punishment" for anything!
The difference is God is a hypothesis and Sarah/Rush are not(though it'd be nice if they were). So even though, both, may be absurd....ONE is just a bit more absurd than the other. The other(Sarah/Rush) could actually(not saying it necessarily could) be proven to have contributed to the Arizona tragedy. To surmise, liberals like to base facts/world views using evidence(empirical).....conservatives sometimes like to use imaginary friends.
