We haven't had dictators or such the way they have. That is the purpose of our second amendment. I'd rather deal with common criminals than a dictator.
Just 70 years ago the Japanese were slaughtering millions. As recently as 1975 Spain was a dictatorship under a fascist whose rise to power was assisted by none other than Hitler.
We haven't seen such tyrants here because of our second amendment.
It has been reported that Japan War Crimes killed as many as 30 million.
Francisco Franco came into power during the Spanish Civil War. Atrocities were committed by both sides in the War.
Why do you care if someone was murdered with a firearm, or some other tool? Talking "gun violence" only is a way to deflect from the fact that if guns aren't available, some other weapon will be used to commit murder.
They only get excited about the gun body count because death isn't what they really want, they want control over people.

We are not talking about wars, here.
Japan was a brutal place well before the war. Franco was having people murdered or imprisoned well after the war. The point of course is such tyrants have never taken power in this country.
Hours before Adam Lanza began his carnage in Newtown, knife-wielding Min Yingjun went on a rampage in a central China village school. Lanza killed 28 people, including himself. Min didn’t manage to kill anyone.
They were lucky, it was a fluke he didn't kill anyone. In many other mass knife attacks in China the crazy killed more people than they wounded. I'm sure you'd much rather cherry pick one outlying event though.

I chose this because of the proximity of time related to two horrific crimes intendeng to murder as many as possible in the shortest period of time.
If the Newtown guy had knifes the toll would not have been what it was.
And it has nothing to do with being one of the largest countries on Earth, and hence more deaths over all
That's right, IT DOES NOT!!! It's gun fatalities PER 100,000 people!
Any other brilliant ideas?
