If anti-gun folks do not see the benefit of gun at this case, I don't know what else can change their mind.
Case A: Police Station - People with guns
3 injured by gunman
Gunman was killed
Case B: Sandy Hook Elementary - People with no gun
26 killed
Gunman shot himself.
Which one do you prefer?
The benefit?
He didn't have a gun when he was brought to the police station. He "found" it there.
A venue filled with armed people did nothing to dissuade him from his attack.
Now, I expect this will be ruled suicide by cop as I cannot imagine what else he could have hoped to accomplish by his actions. But, three more people are shot and more people have to live with knowing that they provided the vehicle for someone's death.
Police are NOT trained shooters, unless they pursue that on their own....they are trained to meet the minimum requirements of their departments.
In some departments that may mean very well trained but, in others you might have Barney Fife!
The better trained officers that I know/knew were ALSO gun enthusiasts, others...just something they had to have for the job.
This incident just goes to show that:
1.You are not safe anywhere...ESPECIALLY gun free zones.
2.No level of police presence will prevent something like this.
3.This stuff can happen anywhere.
4.Good guns stop this stuff from getting worse.
5.The closer a good gun is the faster it can be stopped.
6.Affirmative action is dangerous unless there are equal requirements.
Um, doesn't Joizee have some of the tougher gun laws out there?
So much for Police to the rescue....I'll keep my own protection, Thank You very much....she can come out to the scene 20 minutes later and fill out the paper work!
