Of course democrats and republicans voted for and supported this war. It was based on information by our intelligence agencies. The fact of the matter is the presidential adminstration in power will always be held accountable. It will, right or wrong, be Bush jr's war. And right or wrong, a republican adminstration's war. It is what it is. Not that many Republicans don't blame Obama for the weather everyday....

I'm going to go out on a limb and state that the folks at Harvard and Columbia who conducted this research are the farthest from imbecility. Concentration of biased ignoramuses? Look no further than this thread.

How would you ever know that it has had no effect? That is a statement based on nothing at all measurable. Poverty could be 10 or 20 times worse maybe a hundred times; who knows?

Syria. They were moved to Syria. Obama's Director of National Intelligence saw them moved. More here:

Altogether, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan could cost the U.S. between $4 trillion and $6 trillion, more than half of which would be due to the fighting in Iraq, said Neta Crawford, a political science professor at Brown University.

Her numbers, which are backed by similar studies at Columbia and Harvard universities, estimate the U.S. has already spent $2 trillion on the wars after including debt interest and the higher cost of veterans’ disabilities.

Iraq war ends with a $4 trillion IOU - MarketWatch
As bad as the enormous debt is that the neocons rang up to enrich themselves and their oil buddies, what we seem to forget is the hundreds of thousands of INNOCENT Iraqi civilians who died as a result of the violence the United States ordered on their country. They were victims, and the soulless, heartless basta*ds responsible for their untimely deaths will never get the justice they deserve.

At least in this life.

Default This nonsense again...

Your man Obama isn't saying much about Bush and his war anymore -Is he?

I'll tell you where they are, right next to Syria's WMD.

Smarten up - They were moved and are somewhere in the Middle East. How many times does it have to be pointed out that it was Irag that gassed their own people...What do you think that was? Something they bought in a hardware store?

This thread is just stupid.

This is spot on. We are now living in a time when Republicans represent pure ignorance, regression, and bigoted incompetence. They want to enrich the rich so the rich continue to enrich themselves while everyone else goes to hell. They are disgraceful.

No WMDs. No clue on how to effectively handle both the domestic and foreign agenda. Republicans stink.

Thanks for this post.

Hmmm... Aren't Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, G.E.'s CEO Immelt, etc., OBAMA'S buddies? Didn't Wall Street's elite make more money than ever before under the OBAMA Admin?

Think very carefully about exactly who is ignorant and supporting the party that wants to enrich the rich so the rich continue to enrich themselves while trapping kids in abysmally low-performing public schools via their absolute refusal to allow school choice/vouchers. Exactly who is enriching themselves and their elite friends while making sure others stay dumb and poor? Think very carefully about that...

Th exact quote used several times to sell the war was "We cannot wait for the final proof - the 'smoking gun' - that could come in the form of a mushroom cloud."

That's a reference to nuclear material, not just conventional poison gas.
