This is what I read today morning from my employer!!!

Your social security tax rate has changed to 6.2% (2012 was 4.2%) due to the expiration of the Payroll Tax Holiday implemented in 2011.

I am happy I started Roth IRA and ROTH 401K. I don't think taxes are coming down.

I wont be surprised if the taxes hit 50% in next 15 years!

You shouldn't have been surprised to begin with because it was a temporary holiday for one year and then extended.
Keep informed and you won't be surprised in the future.

Your taxes did not go up..they went back to what they were 2 years ago.
6.2% is not an increase.

These "tax holidays" and tax cuts with "expiration dates" are just tricks Washington uses to give themselves an out. And we fall for it every time. If you want to lower taxes, have the balls to lower taxes. If you want to raise taxes, have the balls to raise taxes. No conditions. No "outs".

Yeah, I've seen people trying to run with this today as a "surprise increase". Give me a break.

I am going to pay 6.2% of my income for SS, of which I probably will never see a dime after 30 year from today.

This is what is called 'taking money from me and giving it to somebody else'

We are a socialist country in all manners!!!

Your title is misleading. It should state "My taxes returned to normal."

If you`re still alive you`ll see it. The first time I heard that SS was as good as dead was about 30 years ago.

And I'm sure whatever it is you do for a living to earn a paycheck owes heavily or in some way to the use of government subsidized roads, airways/airwaves, resources and regulations, as well as the government backed finance system.

I'm also sure you didn't receive any public education, financial aid, grants etc. to get the education you have to earn the job where you now pay taxes.

Socialists, indeed.

Then you make sure you vote in the right people to work to make that fund viable in the future.
There are no more company pensions and 401K savings are pathetic.

SS is going to be your primary retirement income for future generations.
You should not be throwing up your hands saying it won't be there.
That's propaganda.
Instead fight that government reforms it so that it will be there for you in 30 years.

If it isn't then what will you do..live in a cardboard box and beg for food ?

The ones crying the loudest is business. They are also the ones supporting cuts to the program.
Hey they get to pay less FICA with that.

Go google "Third Way" think tank and their stand on social security reform.
Backed and run by big business and the banks.

You're being led in the wrong direction by the very people who would love to see SS gone so they can keep more profits.
These are the globalists that are working towards a truly global workforce.
