My apoligies to the crew(especially Captain Stanley Lord)of, and the ship itself, the SS Californian, but it's legacy of percieved ineptness seems to be mirrored in the current status of it's almost namesake, the State of California. In 1912, the SS Californian was accused of standing still while another ship, the RMS Titanic sank. In 2012 it is now the State of California that is sinking, and if you will pardon the metaphor - the people of California are standing still, doing nothing about it.
The RMS Titanic was the greatest ship of it's time, described as almost unsinkable. The State of California once was the envy of not just it's nation but the world. Now it is mired in debt, the Democrat controlled leglislature is beholden to special interests who feed the debt, and the state is almost unable to recieve a minimum line of credit. Our ship is sinking and we on board can do something about, but won't.
It is time as Californian's that we retake our once held status as the world's role model. Lower taxes, cut unnecesary spending, compete with Texas, Utah, and Nevada for startup businesses and keep the businesses who would love to stay here if not for the hostile climate(I mean taxes, not the sun!)
If we do not throw out the leglislators who are leading us to doom, we do have the option of entering lifeboats, named Texas, Utah, and Nevada. But, I would prefer we stop our ship from sinking, and reclaim the name of the once greatest state of our Union - California.

The iceberg = the Democratic Party.
One small correction. It is the DemocRAT party, not the DemocRATic party. That bunch of swine is anything but democratic.
If you can convince the immigrants to close their legs and open a book, then California might have a snowballs chance.......that is....after you rid the state of Democratic politicians and liberals in general.

That's funny, last time I checked, UC Berkeley(one of the top public universities in the country) was packed with the children of immigrants...
