I think if the right regulations are in place to prevent sexual harassment in any sport (for both male and female homosexuals) then I see no reason for any sport to not allow homosexuals to play.

Strict penalties, hefty fines, rules of etiquette - basically what the military is doing when Don't Ask, Don't Tell got lifted. Given the correct rule enforcement and consequences for deviating from the regulations set down by the sport itself, then things should go smoothly.

49ers' Chris Culliver: 'That's not what's in my heart' - NFL.com
Wouldn't it be nice if we didn't have to respond endlessly to the nonsense of comparing race to sexual behavior?

To watch this guy's re-invention as a result of the thought police's lobotomy was truly pathetic.

The most troubling thing about this and the long list of similar actions that have turned truth and common sense inside out over the last 20 years is that it seems there are very few left among us that place any value on the freedom to think and express individual thought.

Another poster said that he felt the stance conveyed by Culliver's initial remarks were more the norm than the exception in the NFL. Well, of course they are! Not only in the NFL, but in society at large - at least among men.

The fact that men being themselves is no longer tolerated should give everyone a moment of pause. But very few even bat an eye as the tyranny of our new feminized culture marches forward.

I have done work with several non profit organizations aimed at ending homophobia in sports. Unfortantly homphobia still exists in sports but it is in decline. In the NFL specifically not only have studies shown that close to 60 percent of the players would have no problem with a gay teamate, the same number is true for those that support same sex marriage. We have found that if a player is against gay bullying, or would welcome a gay teammate, 9 times out of 10 the same player is in favor of marriage equality. So take a look at all those athletes that have done "it gets better videos", or "you can play videos" and a large majority of those athletes also support marriage equality. Nothing PC about it.

Show me where any "leftie" on here has advocated that the government make a law prohibiting this man from saying what he said. Otherwise you're just talking out of your ass.

Who said we're a free country? That's not in the Constitution. And the 1st Amendment only applies to the government, not the NFL.

Take it up with the 49'rs and the NFL. This has nothing to do with ideology.

You are wrong about that. Since the end of 2012 the MAJORITY of Americans support Same Sex marriage. Since you can be against same sex marriage and Not be a homophobe there is an even higher percentage of Americans that find his comments disgusting.

People like you are nothing more then a religous minority who is trying to force their beliefs on everyone else.

Also we have the right to free speach but so does everyone else. Just because the owner of the team is mad him because he is costing him money with stupid/uneducated comments does not mean his right to free speach is being infringed on. Has he been put in jail or fined? Nope!

There is everything PC about it.

PC is the reason....the only one....that we as a nation have thrown 20 years of time and energy in the trash can dealing with the baloney of "gay" issues.

You are no doubt 30ish or younger, like most posters here. And if so, you have no idea that the world you grew up in is an imaginary one....with truth turned on its head and common sense prohibited in almost every facet of our daily lives. You have no idea what freedom is - particularly freedom of thought - because you've never lived under circumstances where it is allowed.

Don't kid yourself. PC is the sole reason this thread even exists and without it, the "gay" issues that have strangled us for a couple of decades would disappear tomorrow.

Talk about missing by a mile. I am the least religious poster on this board....and one of a dwindling number who continues to retain and express his own beliefs in blatant defiance of you and your thought police brethren.

Those who listen to you and pretend to take you seriously....and sure, there are plenty in today's straight-jacketed culture, haven't had an independent thought since the day before their pre-school began.

Funny thread. How many times have various posters here challenged people to say it to their 6'+ gay friend. LOL
