Kansas State (like every other campus) has a number of Christian groups who are registered as campus organizations and are able to use the facilites on campus for activities.

Student organizations

I NEVER said they didn't allow religion or religious activities on campus. Yes, they have scheduled worship services at the Student Union and two other university buildings. Yes they can schedule religious activities at these and other buildings on campus with very specific limits. No they CANNOT put up a nativity scene in the Student Union or anywhere else on campus including the two chapels.

The Student Union allowed the 7th Annual Drag Show which was hosted Friday and Saturday. I consider a Drag Queen show a public display (of immorality and indecency) even though they attempt to call it an event. After all, what are these drag queens doing if not placing themselves on public display? The religious groups cannot put up religious displays precisely because groups like those who pushed this public display of people behaving immorally at their Drag Show throw a fit and threaten to sue any time religious (especially Christian and Jewish) displays are sought.

What the following does not tell you is the policy at K-State is to DENY any and all religious displays such as a nativity scene or even a Star Of David on public campus property.

Religious Activities | Reports and Policies | Student Life | Kansas State University

But just because they don't openly declare their refusal to ALLOW such displays does not mean they allow them. All it takes is one complaint... and they got tired of getting those complaints years ago. All it takes is one threat... and they got tired of getting those threats years ago.

THIS is more in line with ACTUAL K-State policies on religion:

All-University Regulations - Kansas State University - Acalog ACMS

Quote:
Prayer at University Functions

Nonsectarian prayers, invocations, benedictions, or silent meditations are permitted at university functions to enhance mutual respect and awareness.
I love this one too: All-University Regulations - Kansas State University - Acalog ACMS
Quote:
Religious Activities

In a pluralistic, multicultural, and interdenominational university environment, freedom of worship is supported. Religious programs and activities must comply with university policies as well as federal, state, and local laws. In keeping with its education mission, the university may specify the time, place, and manner of religious events, but may not regulate their content.
Since students may refrain from class and work activities on major faith holidays, faculty and staff are requested to give consideration to these religious holidays in planning exams, deadlines, and class requirements. Students are requested to coordinate their plans with instructors in preparation for these observances.
So make up you own mind. Better yet, try to set up a nativity scene at the Kansas State University Student Union and see how long it takes them to tear it down & threaten to jail you for your inciting behavior.

Just a quick note to all that feel so abused. Dont you all have houses of worship in which you could put on nativity plays, scenes, discussions, rehersals...ect, 24/7 if you so choose?

This is less about the ability to have a nativity scene, as it is placing a navity sence where you want.

No one is stopping or abusing your right, if you can still freely exersise that right...

My son has the right to prayer. He can pray when he wakes, as he brushes his teeth, on the bus to school, as he is entering the building, before class starts, before his test, after his test, at lunch, on the bus home...My son has the right to prayer. BUT my son can not go to school, stand in the hallway and pray for 8 hours, then come home. I and the school would have failed at teaching my child how to fuction in a society.

KS_ref answer this simple question...Has anyone or Governmental agancy banned you from having a nativity scene at your home or place of worship?

If that day ever happens, let me know and I got your back.

The thing I find really disturbing is the BS claim by the LGBT community that they only want to be accepted. No... You want to PUSH that sickness into all aspects of life, flaunting it in our faces. All the while demanding the world accept your lifestyle as normal.

Tell me LGBT community... Is it NOT enough that we don't give a tinker's damn what you do in the privacy of your own bedrooms?

From this 2nd link you can see how wholesome this Drag Queen show is with acts like:

7th Annual K-State Drag Show! Going To Camp! | Manhattan

I would post youtube links to this but you can look it up yourself because I view this crap as immoral and filthy porn.

The world is screwed up!
Back during the 1960s when it was my 5th grade class's turn to put on a show, my teacher thought it would be cute to have all the boys dress in women's clothes to put on a fashion drag show. Was the world screwed up way back then? Years later, a closed public school auditorium in my town was rented to put on a Miss Gay Stillwater Pageant. Maybe you're decades behind the times.

Why don't you follow your own tag line, "Free to Choose", and choose to not go to this event, while others might choose to attend ?

Why are your britches in a twist because some people like to watch a show with female impersonators ? It's entertainment. Like most forms of entertainment, different people will have different preferences and opinions. Are you the sole arbiter of taste in Kansas ?

Unless you're been appointed master of the universe, the most that can be said is ... your rant has been duly noted.

I agree.
It is a sick and twisted world where perverts are celebrated and anything of faith is suppressed.
I'm glad there are others who still see clearly.

What in particular is "sick" or "twisted" or "perverted" about a drag show ?

The only thing that happens in a drag show is ... costumed female impersonators perform lip-synch to popular songs. Nothing else.

What exactly is "sick" or "twisted" or "perverted" about that ? Please be specific.

There isn't any problems putting up nativity scenes per se. The problem is that the people who want to put up nativity scene often will not tolerate all the other religions and atheists putting up their stuff. Every argument over a nativity scene I have heard of comes from...

A. Towns that want a nativity scene but nothing else
B. Towns where they allow everything, but the Christian Taliban defaces the other groups' property.
C. Towns that just don't want to have anything and have Christians who like to moan about oppression.
