Correct; and concentration camps were kept largely as a way to insure the public recalled the darkest moments of human history. Not to celebrate those days.

The Civil War, was well.... a civil war in the US where it became divided and fought itself.
Fought itself over slavery. Why do you Southerners always forget the part about slavery?

The civil war was not fought over slavery, it was fought over state's rights.

Why do you historical revisionists always forget that?

Exactly, and the meanwhile the Southerners just want to forget about slavery. It was just a war about "state's rights", bla, bla, bla.

I do find a bit of karma as you learn living here, and having to travel on business, the correlation between redneck hotbed regions of racism and abject poverty is striking. The progressive regions, such as the Nashville MTSA, far exceed these pockets of poverty manyfold economically.

In short, when you stumble upon a region with a lot of racism, you have stumbled upon a region where people have little reason to hope for a better future.

I apologize for also using the phrase God forbib, as I am sure many in this thread were probalby highly offended by the mention of God, if even in a common cultural phrase.

CENSOR IT ALL!
When I want to brush up on our nation's racist past, I'll pick up a history book, thanks. Monuments dedicated to the architects of that racism are unnecessary.

You are in denial. Yeah, the war was about states rights. States rights to keep slavery.

About what?

I am a supporter of the Union side and agree that the Confederacy had to be put down, and that slavery had to be abolished.

I also understand that the war was fought over state's rights.

Why do you buy in to the historical revisionism that ignores that fact?

Unsubstantiated malarky your shoving at us bucko.

Read it and weep:

Forrest of Fort Pillow (Book Excerpt)
And Hitler came to power in a time when animosity towards other ethnic groups were high. Hitler was not alone in his beliefs in his time.
Your link from some revisionist historian is not convincing.
