Yes, they'll blink twice and then move on to another important issue like Kim Kardashian's shoes or something.

It's the MIC. "If we build it, government will buy it."

Here's an article about their use in the US. Various government agencies are keeping their information very close to the vest on this. Various reports to Congress show between 60-90 agencies using drones.

https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2012/0...nning-and-lack
DHS’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) recently released a report (pdf) detailing multiple problems with the drones used to patrol US borders. This report, combined with the Federal Aviation Administration’s lack of openness about its drone authorization program and failure to disclose the true number of entities flying drones, shows that the federal government is moving far too quickly in its plans to dramatically expand the number of domestic drones flying in the United States over the next few years.
It's only a matter of time before that info becomes, um, you know, "classified."

No, but they'll use Hell-Fire Missiles on fleeing vehicles.

They will be weaponized.

I guarantee they'll grid-out the States and assign drones to patrol those sectors, and then you'll have chase-drones armed to chase fleeing vehicles.

They are being used for that, just like helicopters are being used.

That does not mean I accept it or approve of it.

No, Rhodes called out the National Guard. There were not federalized.

It's called "Facial Recognition Software."

The drone can scan so many people per square feet (I don't remember the exact figures) and has a better than 98% chance of correctly identifying all of them.

So are fully automatic weapons and armored personnel carriers, but that doesn't stop the police from having them.

And anyone getting a DL or state ID will have their digital photograph taken and stored.
That was part of the Secure ID program. While many parts fell to the wayside due to cost, this part didn't.
All states implemented it as it was a DHS mandate.

Helicopters are used in limited instances. They aren't used to just cruise around trying to find something going on. If it happens you can be sure the lawsuits will pile up.

And they will all get dismissed because of the blanket "in the name of national security".

We've already had trigger happy cops shoot some ladies. Imagine if they try to use a drone to off this character and they target the wrong person or kill an innocent bystander. GOODBYE US drone policy and Obama will be crucified by the court of public opinion.

That was GWB's reasoning for holding citizens in prison and dispsensing of their due process rights. The courts stopped him.

For good or bad, the system is slow moving.

I tried to find his FB but couldn't...too bad. He seems like a good guy that made a bad choice. I'm sure LAPD will make him pay... they have a million dollar reward for him... guess they want him silenced asap.

I agree we are essentially living in a police state and the police and federal agents are out of control. They do need to be reighned in, but I don't agree with hunting them down and slaughtering them. I am willing to bet however that the LAPD has no intention of taking this guy alive. When he is finally caught, he will be gunned down irrespective of the circumstances. I am also betting that regardless of where his recent face book page says he is, that he is actually still in the L.A. basin somewhere sitting back, watching the antics of the LAPD and laughing. He has them looking like the Keystone Cops...
