Well they work, I've gotten a ticket from one.

Some cities are now talking about removing them, like Smyrna for example. Its causing more accidents then they are preventing.

I know a light in Oregon you would definitely get a ticket any time someone runs the light. It is a perfect money maker.

Fast yellows are not red light cameras. Separate things.

Fast yellows interfere with safety (braking too quick and trying to make the lights both cause accidents) and are there to increase red light money.

Red light cameras by themselves actually decreased accidents, in my hometown. Once my town later shortened the yellows accidents became very common.

In the northeast I see a number of delayed green lights to prevent accidents with people who run red lights.

Same here. I think it's good traffic regulation.

Not true, they serve their actual purpose (public-private collusion to make money) quite well.

I stop....... I delay leaving on green too. If the joker behind me blows his horn I delay longer. I am not getting T Boned because the guy behind me can't wait.

On my bike one time i saw a pick up coming i knew would run the red and late.. real late.

The guy behind me blew his horn and I moved the bike left and 3 feet. That guy went right around me and got his ass T Boned hard for it. Dumb ass.

On a bike i never ride up to the stop white paint line ever. I make room to move out of the way.

Modern drivers is a silly word, because most people don't drive at all any more, and if you gave them a car to really drive they would just screw up the clutch

Our new mayor just banned red light cameras here after many years of operation.
