barry is up to his old tricks, this is a new way to give a raise to his minions.

If President Obama succeeds in raising the minimum wage law, he’ll have given many unions an automatic pay increase, a new report shows.

“An analysis of union collective bargaining agreements available from the Department of Labor’s Office of Labor-Management Standards indicates that many service, retail and hospitality industry labor unions—such as UNITE-HERE or the Service Employees International Union (SEIU)—peg baseline wages to the federal minimum wage,” the Center for Union Facts (CUF) observes. “Thus, in many cases, raising the federal minimum wage will either trigger wage renegotiations or automatic wage hikes for certain unionized employees.”

People have no concept of economics. They think the money just appears out of thin air.
Obviously that's you. If you understanding of economics makes sense, why isn't a carton of eggs $15 in the Hamptons or Beverly Hills?

How can Obama claim we are in a recovery when the average household income has dipped more than $4,000 during his presidency with most of it during the "recovery?"

He could easily respond that not everyone in either location is paid $25 an hour and anyone working in either location can commute to a cheaper place, and anyone living in either location can travel to a different location with less economic prosperity to purchase their eggs. Your point is invalid.

I didn't ignore anything. I even said, maybe we should. My link discusses the positives of doing so. It is president Obama that is ignoring the opposing side and being a shallow thinker - at least publicly - on this topic. You are also guilty of that. Raising the minimum wage is a trade off, some damage will happen, but hopefully the positives outweigh it. Short term...I suppose Zimbabwe's inflation was just short term pain on the way to prosperity.

ROFL..sure go for it.

Once amnesty is passed those immigrants that have the equivalent of a 5th grade education would love to be making $25/hour.

Why even finish HS here in the US when you can get a job making $25/hour with no skills and no HS diploma.
$52K per year is 1.5 times the starting salary for a college educated teacher here in Texas. Why go to college to earn less than a McDonald's burger flipper.

Where do you people think all this money is going to come from to pay $25/hour ?

How about setting it to $80 an hour? I'd like to be making $80 and hour and I'd also like some mandatory yearly bonuses, maybe $20,000 at least in bonuses.

That would give me more money to spend and stimulate the economy, everyone would have a lot more money.

The problem with Obama is he's great at telling people what they want to hear. His followers lap it all up because they don't want to hear reality.

Obama promises big rewards -- free college for anyone who gets here illegally, and they can start bringing in the many loved ones they left behind and they can all have great paying American jobs.

Unemployed Americans are promised indefinite years on unemployment handouts so they'll never have to worry about jobs or the millions of new arrivals coming to take those jobs.

Unlimited free health care for all -- who could be against that? More money for education, more money to try to put the big housing bubble back together. More food stamps, bigger welfare checks.

The shrinking number of taxpayers of course might not be happy but they don't have the numbers so they don't count.
