Eric Holder: Drone Strike To Kill U.S. Citizen On American Soil Legal, Hypothetically

Are you liberals tired of being lied to yet? I love how he uses the word hypothetical instead of "for example"..

The end result is that President gave himself the power to kill US citizens. Un-freaking believable. Someone needs to stop this lunatic. He makes Bush look like the Pope.

Nobody cares. Until it happens to them or their family of course. Then it will be Bush's fault.

So much for being arrested and properly mirandized. So much for legal representation and due process. If this chit doesn't scare everyone, including Liberals, I don't know what will.

What planet exactly have you guys been living on?... The government has ALWAYS reserved the right to kill US citizens under extraordinarily circumstances of imminent threat.

If you get out your gun and start shooting at everyone you see and resist arrest by the local government cops, can they put a bullet in your brain? YES.

If you attack an army base, can they retaliate and make your corpse look like swiss cheese? SURE.

If you execute a terrorist attack on a public building, outfit it with bombs, and take people hostage, can government special forces sneak in and gut you like a fish? BINGO.

Why the hell couldn't they do it with a drone? They can already do it with anything else at their disposal.

If you pose an imminent lethal threat and don't surrender, then you don't get "due process." Being a US citizen doesn't get you a pass, either.

If you read the article it's about the President ordering a drone to shoot down a citizen.
A tad bit different than any of your scenarios above.

...Well...

...The executive branch is there to enforce and uphold laws, right?

First of all, if you think I'm a Conservative, you're sorely mistaken. Now that that's out of the way, here is my concern. In most instances, when law enforcement or an agent of our government has to "take someone out", it's usually a known fact the perpetrator committed some heinous act.

Using drones to take someone out might involve heresy. The government can state an American citizen who was targeted and killed was a terrorist without providing the public with hard evidence. The government can just say he/she was plotting to blow up the Sears Tower. That's not good enough for me.

I enjoy seeing those on the left back up and drive over their principles time and time again to defend obama.
