Software patents are like the debate on abortion. There are more gray areas than you can shake a stick at anyway. What I despise are mere protocol monopolies where the "brilliant" idea of something like doc format( guess how many fingers I am holding behind my back sort of innovation). So I tend to be biased against the idea of software patents.

Time is a definitely a factor, but you have to be willfully ignorant to not acknowledge that the government facilitates a huge wealth transfer from the young to the old through current policies of entitlements and methods of taxation.

And to muck up the water even more is the 75% RULE. Anyone can include 25% of another coders work and create 75% new code, making for a great launching pad for more law suits. Lawyers perpetuate this kind of legal hoola hoop just to line their pockets. This is why they go into politics (law making).

Politics – from the words “Poly,” meaning “many,” and “Ticks,” as in “small, bloodsucking parasites.”

Yet another place where I see welfare while many other people don't. With some people, all the talk is about transfer payments.

Oh give it a break. Young to old? I'n not even going to debate with you it's so ridiculous.

Ideas are not rare. Everyone and their brother has a good idea. What sets a person apart is the ability to act on and make something of it.
Now there is a thought. I'll bet "action" never occurred to them <sarcasm>

They will continue to debate the ridiculous because the young ones don't have as much out the gate as people who worked 40 years to build their wealth.

Young to Old is not ridiculous at all. The young work, the young pay taxes, in every sense of the word the young 16-60 tend to be the producers of society. That segment is taxed to pay benefits for the old.

your really getting the shaft aren't you? why isn't grandpa pulling his weight?

So who was taxed to put you through school for 12+ years, which you no doubt wasted a good portion of chasing girls and playing video games?
