Double Amputee Shooting: Matthew Jacob Marin, Houston Officer, Kills Man In Wheelchair, Police Say
Not a sheeple at all. But also not so paranoid & anti cop that I suspect all of them are power hungry murdering ass**les either.

And you do realize, don't you, that all the examples you're choosing are poor ones for your point? In the latest, the "innocent" double amputee who got shot was coming at a police officer - who was trapped in a corner - waving an object the officer couldn't see, in an attempt to stab the officer, after the officer was called in to protect others in the group home because this guy was causing a disturbance.

ask for a warrant, if they have none, tell them to get off your property. since the social worker is an agent of the state, the warant also applies to them.

I wonder if a warrentless search allows the searchers to be proctected from civil and criminal actions?

my 13 yo daughter has used firearms on my land plenty of times. have not had social services show up at all yet.

Sue them for what? For knocking on the door to ask about the allegation of possible child abuse or neglect?

According to the story I read, the police were polite & cordial, asked if they could look in the gun safe, and when they were told that without a warrant they could not, they politely left.

Apparently no one has called child protective services to suggest that you were abusing or neglecting your child.
Why is everyone ignoring the fact this is what happened that led to the visit from child protective services and police? The police didn't just see a picture of a kid with a gun & decide to go harass the family. Some anonymous person apparently made a phone call, alleging some sort of abuse or neglect. Let's find out who that person was, and ask them what made them suggest such a thing.

I have no tresspassing signs on my property too. if cops or state worker show up without a warrant, coming onto my property is acknowledgement that they will pay the fine listed to me. it is very legal to do that as well.

every 50 feet on my fences.

Yes, they have to take those calls seriously. Years ago, a co-worker (who didn't like me) eavesdropped on a phone call between me and my boss about my child being sick, and all she heard was that I hadn't taken her to the doctor. Our pediatrician didn't see sick kids in his office immediately - they initially gave instructions over the phone to administer Tylenol, keep her in bed, etc. and call if there were no changes. This was enough for Ms. Nasty to contact her twin sister (who worked in CYS) who initiated trouble for me. It was all cleared up with a phone call from the doctor's office, verification that I had called and spoken with the nurse practitioner who relayed instructions from the doctor, and it was shown to be what it was - pettiness from a vile co-worker. That was the last time THAT happened.

Even in casual conversation - be CAREFUL what you share with people about your kids.

EDIT: This same co-worker became pregnant (for the first time) a year later, was obese and suspected of having gestational diabetes, and refused to follow a diet plan. Doesn't THAT sound like child abuse?
