Bush did not keep us safe because he did not secure our borders..If you disagree let me ask you this.. Did we secure our borders and check for illegal aliens being here during WW11? and if so why? Then ask yourself if Bush should have secured our borders.......Bush failed.We were and still are sitting ducks to terrorist that want to sneak in..Reason is WE DONT HAVE SECURE BORDERS NOW EITHER..No one knows how many sleeper cells of terrorist are in our country...

You are 100% correct, I don't know how someone can blame Bush for 9-11, the way he handled the tragedy, if there had been a vote shortly after he could have been elected president for life! He was amazing bringing our country together. Then he lost it all listening to his war monger Vice President and advisors.
Same as above, the "specific requests" did NOT go to HIM but to the State Department along with thousands of other requests daily.

Cofer Black, at CIA headquarters to review the latest on Osama bin Laden and his al-Qaeda terrorist organization. Black laid out the case, consisting of communications intercepts and other top-secret intelligence showing the increasing likelihood that al-Qaeda would soon attack the United States. It was a mass of fragments and dots that nonetheless made a compelling case, so compelling to Tenet that he decided he and Black should go to the White House immediately.
CIA Director George Tenet felt it was an URGENT matter, and needed to be dealt with IMMEDIATELY!
Bush felt it was time to take a full monthlong August vacation in Crawford!

Ironic, isn't it. If Bush would have really kept America safe, 9/11/01 would never have happened. The bombing of the WTC earlier {1993} was a definite warning to us.
Why did Israeli airlines have fortified cockpit doors but American airliners did not? If anyone nearly knows how to prevent or stop terrorists and terrorism, it would be Israel, since they have had so much experience regarding it.
Ah well, this is all hindsight now. There's things our government can do to try to keep Americans safe, but there's only so much they can do before the next terrorist finds a hole in the system. What happened on 9/11/01 took years to plan.
And while all of THIS was going on ... Bush felt it was a good time to leave the White House, and spend the entire month of August 2001 on vacation in Crawford!
It makes you wonder if he knew what was going to happen so he can start a war in Iraq.
