You are right, but your tax money does not go to all that now, now does it....if that tax money stayed right here in the United States, I would agree with you, but I see NO need for us to send 1.5 billion Egypt....or any other place outside the United States.

I tend to agree but I do support some humanitarian aid to other countries.

What is/was unconscionable is the hundreds and hundreds of billions that were wasted on invading Iraq unnecessarily.

What does race have to do with being able to provide for ourselves?? People are people and whether or not they are lazy or industrious has little or NOTHING to do with whatever color they are. The MOST industrious person I know is my best friend. She has raised 4 kids of her own, 4 grandkids and now one great grandkid. She worked for over 30 years as an inspector in a factory and just recently retired at age 68. Her Grandkids are mostly in their 20's and have moved back in with her and her 78 year old husband because they can't find work (???). The youngest grandchild more than likely will live with her for a very long time as he has a mild form of autism..born crack addicted. Now...what nationality is she??? Afro American and her grandkids??? MIXED..white and Afro American. Why doesn't she toss them out?? Where would they go and what would become of them?? One of them has already been in college and to HIS suprise..he is an honor student. Another is making plans to move to Florida with her Mom...gradually they are coming around but she has to work at it with them. Her husband?? He still runs his landscaping business and also does snow removal at 78..what a guy!

How is one man's need a result of another man getting to keep more of what he earns?

Of the 3.5 to 4 trillion spending, all foreign aid is less than 40 billion. That's a hill of beans in the budget and it does much good.

Ah, this is the fundamental difference between liberals and conservatives that Paul Krugman wrote about in his column, "A tail of Two Moralities."

This is an excerpt that answers your question:

Quote:
What are the differences I’m talking about?

One side of American politics considers the modern welfare state — a private-enterprise economy, but one in which society’s winners are taxed to pay for a social safety net — morally superior to the capitalism red in tooth and claw we had before the New Deal. It’s only right, this side believes, for the affluent to help the less fortunate.

The other side believes that people have a right to keep what they earn, and that taxing them to support others, no matter how needy, amounts to theft.
Personally, I favor the civilized system we now have developed over the Oliver Twist world conservatives would lead us back to.

I do too, if we can afford it. But we can't afford it.

There's no question that we can't afford the many wars we create and insert ourselves into.

So, the amount of money matters? Look at what could be done with all that money here in the states....hell, that would avoid the sequester.
