since we are not in a Muslim country, your argument again falls onto what can be legally done in the US (states): a minor cannot consent to a legal contract. Marraige is a legal contract.

The only exception is the parent or legal guardian of the minor accepts on his/her behalf (in some states)

On the whole subject of "YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO TELL US WHAT MARRIAGE IS BAWWWWWW"

What gave Christians the right to redefine marriage to fit their purpose when they did?

Except allowing their religion to take over the government and allow them to do blatantly illegal things.

THe "america muslim takeover" is an overblown piece of anti-muslim bull propaganda.

If a law were passed Banning Divorce, would you support it?

After all, it would Directly address "The Sanctity of Marriage," without all of this government intervention and needless, wasteful expense.

Thoughts?
Ask yourself this question: Of what importance to the future of the nation does marriage present, what makes marriage so important that the government even bothers to involve itself in marriage??

I ask that question, because if we do not have a mutual reference point to start from, then it makes no sense to have this discussion.

NAMBLA will try to take over though. I guess you didn't watch the video. Sigh.

The easiest solution is to stop giving tax incentives to married people. Single people are persecuted to the same level as gays by the IRS which is wrong and immoral.

Define "marriage equality."

What does your thread title have to do with divorce?

Just look how our country is going down the toilet since marriages have broken up. Single mothers raising kids leads to poverty, etc, etc. Easy divorces did not help. If you don't see it you are blind.

So how to fix it? Letting any and all kinds of marriages be legal will only make things worse. Get back to the traditional family unit. It does very well in societies that have it. Our country became the most powerful around when we had it. Get back to it.
