I'm very pro-law enforcement (two cops in my family), but despise LEOs & courts that crap on the Constitution & law-abiding citizens.
In this case the officer clearly overstepped his bounds, and shame on that "judge" who convicted the woman.
Glad to see her win, but I disagree with the article writer's assertion that the LEO & judge should pay the settlement and not the taxpayers. The taxpayers re-elected that dolt, so too bad for them.
The lady should have won a larger settlement, and the cop should pay it out of his pocket, after he's released from prison for going into the lady's house. Too bad the lady couldn't have grabbed a shotgun & taken the appropriate action!
Cops are the biggest thug punk gang in the U.S. and continue to rob, murder, etc. usually with no repercussions. Prosecutors and judges are just part of the same out-of-control gang.
$25,000 is nothing! There should be at least one more zero added to the settlement!
So everyone suffers for the bad actions of a few?
I didn't know you were socialist.
?
I'm not. I'd rather the police organization pay their penalties from their own stash than rely even more so on us tax payers.
So, ideally the police and conduct themselves in higher regard so that they don't suffer the actual consequences of their actions.
