Two reasons:

1) liberals are more about social issues nowadays

2) it's the trendiest thing to say your fiscally conservative and socially liberal

there for, the term shouldnt even be fiscally conservative.

It should be called fiscally responsible.

Fiscally conservative is just another term used to demonize one side while lionizing the other.

Other examples include but are not limited to ; pro choice/anti choice, pro abortion/anti life, over educated/low information voter , equalist/ enabler, War mongerer/isolationist, globalist..........

There is a more common term for "fiscally liberal". It's "socialist". It means liberal with other people's money.

Simple. Most Americans identify themselves as fiscal conservatives. Being liberal is mostly a social thing, and today's conservatives are way more liberal that they would ever want to admit.

It is all about priorities. If we had a balanced budget noone would complain about the small amount we pay for welfare.

We tend to vote for those who put trillion dollar endless wars and healthcare insurance overhauls that create more expensive healthcare in office.

Me! I'm a moral conservative and a fiscal liberal. I'm for the working man, not the big money interests.

I do. I'm a fiscal liberal. Fiscal liberals are people who don't bend over to the god of right wing economic myth and ideology.

I'm kinda like that as well.

I think the right wing worship of the rich is a huge pile of bs, as is the right wing worship of corporations. I think the right wing mythological tale about how only by treating the rich and corporations with kid gloves and warm fuzzies will the planet survive, is an even more gigantic pile of manure.

I consider children having sex, behaving sexually, speaking sexually, and dressing sexually (and children is anyone under 18 or 21) to be promiscuous and damaging. I consider it degrading to "sell" oneself sexually by going around half nude in public. I think the ease with which divorces are handed out to be wrong for the soul, the mind, society, life, and everything imaginable. I consider 99% of sexual and sexualized content on TV and movies to be unnecessary and unfrikkinbelievably harmful to the brain. I think prostitution and porn shops should be located outside of the city limits, no exceptions. I think sexual websites online should be taxed very, very heavily in this country, and any download, any view, result in huge cash advances for the U.S. coffers. I think polyamory AND polygamy (whether associated with a religion or not) are sick beyond anyone's imagination. I think one-night stands diminish the soul and degrade it till there's nothing left but dirt.

So you are a Liberal that is also a prudish busybody.

I am a Liberal as in Liberty. I believe in a welfare system that encourages small business start up. I am a firm believer in the right to be armed. I also believe in a progressive income tax used to support, among other things, a universal publically owned health care system. I am against foreign entanglements and think we should leave the rest of the world kill each other whenever they want. I am not a peacenik. When we are militarily attacked I believe the attackers and their supporters should be obliterated.

I think sexual matters are only of concern to the adult people involved and are none of my or your business. If you do not approve of adult porn shops stay away from them. If you do not approve of people owning firearms then don't own any.
