As LifeNews reported last week, a new annual report the Planned Parenthood abortion business released shows it helped fewer pregnant women with prenatal care and the number of pregnant women it referred for adoptions declined as well.
...
The new document the abortion organization posted shows Planned Parenthood did 329,445 abortions in 2010 while it provided prenatal care to only 31,098 women and referred only 841 women to adoption agencies.
Planned Parenthood - what a joke of a name for that organization.
People equate Planned Parenthood with abortion in their minds so it's kind of a no brainer that pregnant women would go to Planned Parenthood if they had already made up their mind to terminate their pregnancy.
Planned Parenthood has only a few programs that offer prenatal services. They are not equipped to care for women from conception to delivery so they would refer out anyone who is pregnant to an OBGYN or CNM for care. Most of what Planned Parenthood does is offer annual pap exams, STD testing, contraception and pregnancy testing. They also offer a lot of health education. Still, most people only think of abortion when they hear the word, "Planned Parenthood"
They really need a new name for that organization.
It didn't used to be that way. When Planned Parenthood first started its name fit. When I was in high school the only place a single teenage girl could get birth control was there. I guess they succeeded in getting American attitudes towards birth control changed so they aren't needed for that any more.

This, more or less.
The statistic looks jarring at first, but when you actually sit down to think about it, isn't anything to get in a rage over.
It's made to look like most of what PP does is abortion, thus propagating the stereotype that PP=abortions. If people want that statistic to change, they need to actually research the organization and understand everything it provides.
That chart doesn't show how many pap smears they did or how many birth control scripts they wrote. Where is that info??? I know several young ladies who get their birth control pills from PP. One of them I know would never get an abortion, she goes there because it's not a hassle and it's cheap. I'd like to see the whole story and not some slanted chart with an agenda.
Abortion services account for about 3 percent of Planned Parenthood’s activities. That’s less than cancer screening and prevention (16 percent), STD testing for both men and women (35 percent), and contraception (also 35 percent). <snip>Planned Parenthood itself estimates it prevents more than 620,000 unintended pregnancies each year, and 220,000 abortions.

The 2010 report is below, can you refer me to the page the information you posted was located the page I saw indicated 5,685 abortions. Your chart indicates "live action", who is that organization.
Wow a pro-life website intentionally using statistics to misinform people... who would have thought.
