You're not wrong in that we did that, only in the Balkans. I remember Serbian leader Radovan Karadzic on 60 Minutes saying "You are helping the wrong side. Some day you will thank us for what we are doing."
Oh well, I don't know many people who can keep all those countries and ethnic groups from that region very straight in their heads, so I don't feel so bad. Yeah, I'm wrong sometimes.

Well, that whole area - all those splintered, former Soviet Union countries, are a hot, hot mess. I say leave them to their own devices and stay out of it all as much as possible.
We didn't support Muslims instead of Christians in Bosnia. We supported the victims, who happened to be mainly Muslims, who were being massacred by Serbian aggressors, who happened to be Christian.
