They're not looking to make money; they're looking for media outlets which they can use to push their message. This is why real journalism is in a death spiral in this country.
^^^^Most people have no idea about the Kochs philanthropy, history or political involvment....they'd probably be shocked if they educated themselves first but it would require being able to see shades of grey and not R vs. D.
Good post! The Koch brothers are huge philanthropists. But the Leftardians fixate on their politics. Go figure

Koch serves as chairman and chief executive, is exploring a bid to buy the Tribune Company’s eight regional newspapers, including The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Baltimore Sun, The Orlando Sentinel and The Hartford Courant."
Wouldn't that be interesting, if you can't beat them, buy them. And they would probably turn a nice profit too, but it would help if they did actual reporting and quit shilling for whatever administration is in power.
That would be great news to me, since one of my relatives, William A. Otis, was once upon a time Editor, back when it was a conservative newspaper.
My grandfather, Samuel D. Otis was Sports Editor of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Of course, he was also a Republican.
