Two predominant Christian (Syrian and Greek) Orthodox bishops have been kidnapped in Syria right before Orthodox Easter.

The Pope and other religious and non-religious leaders urge to free the bishops.

There is an online petition... https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/pet...y-men/Nqrb3cv1

Is a petition really going to do anything? As if the evil kidnappers are going to see that and say hey, lets let him go now.... Unfortunately, they will probably be killed. I hope not, but that is the likely outcome.

The Syrian Christians have really made some bad choices here. Having thrown in their lot with Assad, it is going to be brutal for them after he finally falls.

Islamic countries, as a rule, are very dangerous places to practice another religion.

They don't relate to the whole tolerance, inclusion and diversity thing like western Europe, the US and Canada.

Since Obama is among the most powerful person in the world, if he speak up about the issue they may be released, although it is a slim chance

With the civil war going on in Syria it is a particularly dangerous place. So it is not surprising that kidnappings like this one are happening there now.

This is quite disgusting. I hope the persons responsible for this kidnapping get punished to the full extent of the law.
