The real question is, can we find places with right-wing (I won't grant the term "conservative" here, since US right-wingers are actually quite radical) policies that are doing well?" The US south is a mess of poverty and violence. For all of the howling about shootings in Chicago, the major city with the highest per capita murder rate in the US is New Orleans. Cali finally is on track after the Republicans in the state lost the power to block any and all budget matters. The US under republican rule experienced an unneeded and poorly- managed war in Iraq, a hurricane which saw federal emergency management direct needed resources away from the affected region, and a turn from a federal surplus, into a 1.2 trillion dollar deficit. Meanwhile, the republican controlled House of Representatives refuses to address the ongoing jobs crisis, instead preferring to continually vote for quixotic bills to bar poor people from obtaining access to health care.
For other examples, I suppose we could look to the Middle East, although I've heard that the UNE is pretty nice...
Canada, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Norway right off the top of my head. Strong economies, lower debt, lower homicide rates, lower infant mortality rates than us. Ans more cost-effective healthcare.
According to your stats, their rates are almost the same. Funny though, if Idaho is so great and WA is so bad, why are you living the in the WA area and not Idaho?
Debt to GDP in Washington is 19.6% that is actually pretty good, which makes sense because they still have a healthy growing economy. I know Portland has been bouncing back from the recession, though the text of the state is still struggling some.
It wasn't a Republican war until Democrats realized in 2004 that they didn't have any divisive issues to run on, and the failed stimulus cost more than Bush's portion of the Iraq War.
Reagan's tax cuts kept us afloat while interest rates were raised relative to inflation.
Without that, we're still in an inflation spiral with 10.8% unemployment.
Bush inherited a recession and 9/11 from Clinton.
Those tax cuts kept the economy moving.
That must be why Obama renewed them.
Republican war?

The economy tanked at the end of Bush's second term, can't blame that on Clinton, 9/11 occurred during Bush's term, and the Iraq war is Bush's war.
