You obviously haven't read Conservative revisionist history. Bush didn't get sworn into office until 9/12/01. The Iraq War was all the DEMOCRATS' idea. And Obama was in office in September of 2008 when the economy tanked. Try to keep up.

The last two Presidents of Brazil Ignacio Lula da Silva and Dilma Rousseff are socialists and Brazil is one of emerging BRICS economic powers. India's Congress Party and South Africa's ANC are left of Center. China is a socialist system with authoritarian tendences as is Russia under Putin and his United Russia Party. All of these nations are growing at a rate at least 3 times that of the United States. In fact China will have a bigger economy by the early 2020s.

Take a look at the "hood" in any major city USA created by liberal policies. Detroit is a mecca of liberalism come to think of it.

the "conservative" policies some like to espouse has never existed. Can anyone name a free market. Anyway, it's a dumb question because the definition of "liberal" and "conservative" policies slide up a down the spectrum like Mimi on a pole every saturday night trying to pay for baby formula. If the OP would like to define liberal policies....?

I don't know the truth of that statement, but I do know that Giuliani used VERY social policies while in office.

The bluest states (California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Illinois, etc.) in this country are all donor states whose reckless spending attracts most of our country's wealthy people and entrepreneurial minds, and as we all know, these people pay most of our federal income tax. These taxes pay for the cheapness of the most conservative states... truth is, red states couldn't survive with the same standard of living without the blue states.

We should remember, too, that studies as recent as December of last year indicate that the happiest nation on Earth is Denmark. The Danes love their democratic socialism; it works for them. Other happiest nations include a good few Northern European countries along with Canada and Australia and a handful of Latin American nations...
