No -- the liberals would blame Bush -- just like they blame Bush for all those jumping onto disability today during Obama's presidency.
The work ethic is gone -- that's why Obama justifies bringing in so many unskilled foreign workers to do those jobs he says Americans are too lazy to do. As long as the welfare life pays so well, millions of Americans have no desire to work for a living.
Yep, from the big bang forward, it's allllll Obama's fault.
Look upo how "successful" Bush's terms were and get back to me on that.
Thank you Bush and corporate friends for age discrimination. People short of retirement age lose jobs, can't find a substitute that pays the freight. I happen to know one case where an elderly worker was told she was physically incapable of doing her job. This was whenshe was 53. She was totally willing to keep doing her job full time, but her employer wanted a young replacement with less of a burden on benefits. As a result, she qualified for disability and began collecting it. Her substantiation was exactly what the employer used to dump her.
There must be more, a lot more to ^ story. AGE is a protected class.
The other BIG source of this surge is the food big Ag puts on the market which is making people physically incapable. High fructose corn syrup is producing the Biggest Loser population who get so heavy their skeletons can't bear the burden. You see them everywhere in wheel chairs and scooters. So for maximum profits, industry is producing a sick population that collects disability. Obama had zip to do with any of this, it was totally the doing of private managements trying to squeeze more profit out of their business.
You wouldn't know that because you only real sources that spoonfeed right wing pabulum to you.
Obesity often creates related health issues. People have the ability to make better or worse choices.
Most mooching off disability checks are not hooked to oxygen tanks. That's the problem.
I agree.
Many of the new recipients of SS disability benefits are the long term unemployed. It doesn't surprise me that rather than be persistent and look for a job, even one that pays below expectations, some people would rather go on disability.
Plus you have the fact that some have been collecting unemployment checks for 2 years or over with the continuous extensions. The longer a person gets these checks the more likely they will become used to sitting around and not want to return to the workforce.

Boy aint' THAT the goddamned truth! Half of the small staff I work with has had that damned surgery to shrink their stomachs and God, what misery! I think about that every time I go to work out or do road work. Screw that ****!
If $1000 per month covers everyting you need, you ave low standards.
Hence why I said that he needn't worry himself since our benefits system is extremely basic and pathetic lol. Why do tea partiers think people living on disability or welfare here, hell even Social Security, think they are living a life of luxury? I don't get it at all. But, these are the same type of people that think Spanish is going to completely take over the US in a decade or two and that even Anglophones will speak Spanish as their native language. So, I'm not completely surprised they have fallen off the deep end and have gone insane.
What people don't realize is that money's going to run out soon. Nobody is going to want to work anymore, we'll all be on government assistance and poof, the cushion will be gone. Then what?
