Republicans love to line the pockets of the rich and putting expenses on debt that can be used as an excuse to cut everything.

If comprehension is an issue for you, then maybe you should be discussing that problem with someone who cares.
Try comprehending this...

Bush ran up record deficits year after year and his GOP congress approved all those budgets and the deficits were never an issue for them.

Then as a parting gift, Bush leaves us the worst economy in generations. Congress approves his bailout plan, further increasing the deficit.

Obama takes office and tries to clean up the unprecedented mess left behind.

GOP retakes the house in 2010 and suddenly, deficits are a BIG issue for them.

Deficits now are declining, and Pubs are still whining.

Pretty hard to please.

Lots of ingratitude.

Whenever someone says "deficits don't matter", the first thing that comes to most people's minds is Ronald Reagan.

Bush was warning Congress beginning in 2002 that there was an oncoming economic collapse, hell they had Congressional hearings on the matter where Democrats objected to the notion and not only refused to raise the equity ratios of lending from 3% but wanted them lowered to ZERO

He tried THIRTEEN TIMES to reign in the banks and reform loans, every one of them was blocked by Democrats. Barnie Frank was the biggest one who was lining his pockets because his boyfriend was connected.

As for the bs about cutting everyting, FEDERAL SPENDING HAS DOUBLED..

And dont forget when Democrats took over Congress in 2007, the economy was so strong, that they used it to raise the minimum wage. What did they do to stop the collapse?

And I objected to those deficits then, just like I do now. But to pretend $250B deficits under Bush comes even close to the $1.5T ones we've been experiencing under Obama, so we should celebrate one thats $1T, is utter stupidity..

But here ya are..

The only planning your sweetheart did was to use the surplus as an excuse to sell his tax cuts, promising more surplus. While the like-minded "thinkers" for right wing were promoting the same tax cuts as a way to reduce federal surplus.

Those were your sweetheart's words, verbatim.

"Finally, along with funding our priorities and paying down debt, my plan returns about one out of every four dollars of the surplus to the American taxpayers, who created the surplus in the first place. A surplus in tax revenue, after all, means that taxpayers have been overcharged. And usually when you've been overcharged, you expect to get something back."
