Id like to see healthcare taken away from the heartless souless bureaucrats at insurance co's and turned over to the heartless souless bureacrats at the federal government.
And the last thing we need is individuals being responsible for their own health care decisions.

Yep. It is way better for those irresponsible people to just go to the emergency room and stick it to the tax payers.
Excellent article. It is clear that the government has no interest in providing reasonably priced health care or to help it's citizens since almost every study shows that this will make health care costs skyrocket.
Although the article represents the view of a highly biased source, it is always good to hear all sides of a controversy.
When I was laid off my job back in 2008 I suddenly found myself in the position of not being able to afford COBRA and thus without any kind of health insurance ... so I know first hand how it feels being middle aged and with a significant health condition and without insurance. Although I found a new job within the year, it took nearly another year until I was eligible for insurance. In the mean time I did have a health "crises" and what did I do? The same as any uninsured person with limited income: went to the ER.
But we know how much corruption, fraud and waste are perpetrated by the government so why put healthcare into the hands of it?
The short answer is that more "corruption" is perpetrated without the government involvement. Right-wingers like to deny the human cost of our current healthcare system and how it grossly fails to satisfy the basic needs of those less fortunate, but those human costs are real, and prodigious, and put the financial costs that right-wingers whine about in perspective.

I'm not a right-winger, and I'm firmly against Obamacare. Why? Because the "corruption" that you are complaining about is not fixed by this law. In fact, under Obamacare the potential for corruption is even greater than it was previously. I'm all for healthcare reform, but this wasn't the way to go about it. Obamacare hands even more power to the insurance companies than they previously had, and you're touting it as some great remedy...
