What is your opinion of DUI checkpoints? Do you feel they violate the 4th amendment?

So should we setup blocks at the exits to bars and restaurants as well? Sporting events?

Slippery slope isn't it? I really feel they are a serious violation of the 4th. Have ALWAYS thought that, but SCOTUS disagrees for some reason.

If you are a smart person you would vote that they are unconstitutional. Unless you like DUI checkpoints in your neighborhood. I'm sure that some people would demand them if they could.

I am fine with DUI checkpoints in areas that have had a high number of drunk drivers.

Well I guess I'm not smart. There are plenty of decisions SCOTUS has made that I don't agree with but they are, as they say, Supreme.

Also not smart is how I handle them. I don't have my license ready. I wait until I'm asked to present documents. I don't talk unless spoken to so they can't smell my breath until they ask a question. While it really doesn't matter, I believe these check points should be inconvenient and that's my little way of not rolling over too fast.

And I don't drink.

Why not install breathalyzers into all cars?

Again. Do you also support checkpoints being set up outside of bar parking lots and restaurant parking lots? Sporting events? How about just installing breathalyzers in cars?
