I'm just curious how raising taxes is helping you?
Because the government benefits that the poor receive from tax dollars are not included and can not be purchased with the low paying crappy jobs that the 1% create (if they even decide to keep the crappy jobs in this country). It's almost impossible to get rich in this country without doing people wrong; therefore, the tax increases are justified. The very government that taxes these people is what enables most of these people to get rich or stay rich. Our legal system protects these people. How much of the one percent would disappear overnight if we did away with copyright laws, insurance, no compete contracts; also, do you think slimy corporations and companies would constantly screw people if there wasn't a government to protect them from the people they wronged. How long would a cable company or an insurance firm last if there were no laws or law enforcement to protect them from an irate customer with a bulldozer.

think about it

The poor: when they get money they spend every dime of it.

The middle class: As they become more successful they use debt to buy liabilities which is why they get caught in the rat race.

The rich: They buy assets which produce an income to pay for their liabilities. Investing in business (leads to hiring), stock (business), real estate (a place for people like you to live).

Essentially the poor and the middle class spend it without any concern for their future. yes, by spending they do help the economy but they depend on either the government or having a job where the rich invest which leads to products or services the people want, hiring employees, and since you can not afford to buy your own home, they invest in real estate and because of the rich you now you have a place to live.
You said "Investing in business (leads to hiring)"

But in reality new customers, new markets, and innovative products create new jobs.

How does giving rich people tax cuts create new jobs?

But I fully concede giving rich people tax cuts creates jobs in Asia (the tax cuts give the rich the money to build US factories in Asia, so they can get cheaper labor.)

Then you said "because of the rich you now you have a place to live."

But in reality most people buy houses that the rich have nothing to do with.
And most people rent houses/apartments from people who are not rich.

How do the rich give everyone a place to live ??

Ah but yes, some of the middle class do become more successful but because of the tax code being progressive as they become more successful they have to pay more money to the government, meaning a higher percentage of their income. This makes it hard for them to become millionaires. Obama only made it worse. You don't want to believe this because you are one of the poor or the middle class that has given up hope or has a poor mans mind set so you refuse to educate yourself in financial matters therefor you wait for the government to take from the so called rich in hopes you will get some of it. You won't. The money just goes to cronies.

Again, is someone making $200K the rich that you despise. These are the small businesses that can not hire in Asia but damn, you helped Obama put the hammer down on them. Believe me, you just screwed yourselves and are too hard headed to realize it.

Yes - because the Republicans have done SO MUCH for the middle class. Now that IS a joke.

No difference-really.
Payroll taxes were restored post the temporary holiday to the same level they have been since 1990.

Payroll taxes were increased from 10.7% to 12.12% during the Reagan years. He and Greenspan sold the increases as the way to secure the future. Then they promptly deficit spent it all. Bush 1, Clinton and Bush 2 did the same till the well ran dry.

The number of people 65 or older increased by 15% between 2000-2010. Beginning in 2011, 10,000 people a day turn 65 and this is expected to continue for the next 20 years.

Congress could easily reduce the Government's cost of Medicare by allowing Medicare to negotiate the price of prescription medications and medical supplies as is done in other countries. Instead, Congress supports big pharm and so we continue to deficit spend and whine about slackers.

Does your landlord really care what happened 20 years ago? Try giving them this explanation and see where it gets you.
