Roy is going to Clemson University to study Computer Science. Hopefully, some reporter will find him in 4 years and re-interview him to see if he still prays for days before making important decisions.
I would say that the views of most people change from High School. If his does does that somehow mean he shouldn't be able to give his thoughts as valedictorian now?
Should we appoint valedictorians and then invite them back 20 years later to give their speeches?
I will restate my position when you move from opposite land. When one argues that people may express themselves and you read it's not permissable then we are in different dimensions.
If that's the case, then why have so many atheists and other God-haters come out against people speaking their religious viewpoints in a government institution? That doesn't gel with our historical founding who did use expressions of faith while working in a government setting. Thus, you seem to be confirming with your comments that the atheists are out of line. Thanks for admitting the truth.

If you allow one god into a government institution, you must allow all the gods in!

That's what they do but it has nothing to do with me.

Any person has freedom of religion. That said, America was founded and established by Christian men. Our laws, as validated by founders' writings, clearly state that our government works hand in hand with God (obviously, Yahweh). Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism, or various other religions, play no role in this nation's founding. They are not on an equal setting, in terms of using faith within an institutional setting. Our laws were inspired by the Ten Commandments, for crying out loud.

The USA is not a theocracy. Our laws are not based on the ten commandments. For example, coveting is the foundation of capitalism. Every non-christian country has laws that forbid stealing and killing.
They are. It is not specific to Christ. They use god, not Christ.
One nation under GOD.. Not one nation under Christ.
But wait, that doesn't fit the agenda......... DOH!
How about this?:
"One nation under many gods."
