We have Bloomberg weighuing in on national issues, such as gun control and now Obama weighing in on N.Y. issues.

The US Department of Justice told the court, in a surprise last-minute filing, that it would prefer an independent monitor to help ensure changes, should the city of New York lose this case.
The government filed its “statement of interest,” however, somewhat reluctantly. It would have preferred to weigh in “if, and only if,” the statement said, the court had already found the NYPD’s tactics violate the Constitution....Earlier this year, Judge Scheindlin found that an element of the NYPD’s stop-and-frisk tactic violated the Fourth Amendment’s protection against unreasonable search and seizure

That is good to hear, for those of you who are huge 2nd Amendment supports, Stop and Frisk is also a violation of one's rights that the 2nd Amendment crowd should equally care about.

How many drunk driving checkpoints do you see? In all my years of driving, I haven't been through one.

Most 2nd Amendment supports are against stop and frisk.

In my life I've been through three. In one, the cop tried to convince me that since it was a Friday night I must have had a drink. That one really bothered me.
