That's how this country works.
There is a disconnect on how the "country" government works now, and how it is actually supposed to work.

The government is supposed to represent the will of the people via elections, but when money and power came into play, that all went out the window.

What we have now is the ultra rich calling the shots that control our government and these freedoms of ours is something that is getting in their way when it comes to controlling their assets (American's).

Same situation we escaped from in the past.
History repeats itself.

The centralization of power via Big Government, Big Corporations and Big Banks all in bed together are the enemy of the common man, small and medium sized business.

They want all the power, wealth and information they can get their greedy hands on no matter how illegal in order to control the markets and people in line with their filthy agendas.

Thanks a lot, Snowden!

Now, I gotta unload all my stock.

The process of making and repealing laws actually still works the way is it supposed to work.

Sure, if you have $$$ to bribe a politician, such as a bunch of Banksters from Wall Street wanting Glass Steagall Repealed.

Quote:
Such a combination of banking and insurance companies was illegal under the Bank Holding Company Act, but was excused due to a loophole that provided a two-year review period of proposed mergers. The merger was premised on the expectation that Glass-Steagall would be repealed. Citigroup’s co-chairs Sandy Weill and John Reed led a swarm of industry executives and lobbyists who trammeled the halls of Congress to make sure a deal was cut.
The Patriot Act nor any of the other encroachments on our freedoms will be repealed unless there is a profit to be had from such.

Or just have Wall Street write all the laws:

Is Wall Street literally writing America's laws now? Citigroup reportedly helped draft more than 80 percent of a House finance bill

Is Wall Street literally writing America's laws now? - The Week

Quote:
It turns out that recommendations from Citigroup made up 70 of the bill's 85 lines, with two important paragraphs copied almost verbatim — save for two words that were changed to make them plural, according to the Times.

While there has been a notable lack of bipartisanship in Congress in recent years, it appears that both Democrats and Republicans are more than open to Wall Street's money. As Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) once said of Congress, banks "frankly own the place."

I remember when the net first opened up..China was all over us like white on rice..excuse the pun.. That was a while ago...There is nothing China does not know about the west - regarding digital communication and the storage of records and general information. Everyone is in a tizzy about Snowden...He did not reveal anything that they did not already know...They have thousands of clever technical wizards in China who's only job is to spy and gather information digitally.... Any security code created digitally can be broken digitally...There are no secrets anymore - so what's the problem here?

This is true Oleg.
It is funny how the same ones after him say that it is no big deal if the government is spying on us since they have been doing it for who knows how long, but are up in a tizzy about him being in China, when he would not have been able to tell them anything they did not already know.

If I was to block every IP from China that hits my sites every day I wouldn't have any traffic!
