Seems odd that you would hold the position that it is wrong for a police officer to ask for your phone in an accident but you are absolutely fine with the government having that information for absolutely no reason.

pknopp, it really is quite simple of an explanation. You see, Natalie was against both, but Obama hasn't been hypocritical on both yet, just the NSA spying records. So in an effort to vindicate Obama's hypocrisy and lies she is now fine with the first issue, but still can maintain her second position until Obama speaks or is revealed on that subject.

Hypocrite.
To me, it wasn't a problem under Bush either. Don't know why you would assume otherwise.

To Obama it was. In 2003 Obama said Bush abused his authority and violated the Constitution.
Ten years later it's now just a "moderate" infringement on our rights.

You didn't run for President in 2008 and you didn't promise to reverse portions of the Patriot Act.

You are using apples to argue oranges now. Oh by the way, in 2008 Obama supported and voted for the compromised amendments to the Patriot Act.

No apples to oranges. It was also about NSA spying on Americans..Stellar Wind was the codename.

That 2003 speech was about the NSA gathering data on Americans.
In 2002 the secret NSA tapping into the internet became uncovered by whistle blower Mark Klein.

I call searches that don't meet the standard of being reasonable what he supreme court has called them violations of the constitution. If I want to give up those rights then I'd support its for use against common criminals that pose much more of a danger to citizen everyday in this country. Same with illegal wire tapping. To me they justify it the same way they justified detention of japan citizens after Pearl Harbor ;protection of the people. Some people tolerate it f or same reason; fright caused by the attack. The CIA is also prohibited form operating in the borders of this country against such threats for same reason which is why the FBI does it.

This from a member of the biggest domestic terrorist group in America - Law Enforcement. A group that prides itself on trampling on the Constitution and violating citizens' rights on a daily basis. Americans are more likely to be assaulted and murdered by these thugs than they are to ever come into contact with a member of some foreign terrorist group.

Lol, if people realized how much dirt the CIA does around the world in our name, the American people would be appalled and would start to understand why the rest of the world hates us.

It's a cycle. The more people hate you, the more excuses you have to spy on people.
