Why do many in the GOP feel the need to take hostages now to get their demands met? Threatening a government shutdown or debt default as a way to get what you want is taking a hostage. Is this a strategy that the GOP will now use going forward because they are unable to win elections?

Who has been taken hostage? Does the use of extreme exaggeration make liberals feel like real men/women?

Extreme exaggeration? You don't think threatening a debt default if your demands are not met isn't extreme?

I don't think anyone is making "demands".

Oh, quit your partisan whining. The Republicans offered to fund all of the government but Obamacare. If the Democrats won't accept that, then they are just as much to blame as the Republicans. Your one-sided drivel is obvious and banal.

No one is demanding Obamacare be defended or else face a shutdown?

How about you win some elections before demanding your way or the highway. Throwing hissy fits about shutting down the government if you don't get your way like spoiled brats is no way to govern.

I kinda thought the republicans aleady won enough elections to control the House.

They control the House because of gerrymandering. House Democrats received a million more votes nationwide than House Republicans. House Republicans lost seats. House Democrats gained seats. Democrats gained seats in the Senate and retained the White House. The people sent a clear message back in November.

Yes they are. Threatening a government shutdown or a debt default is making demands. I don't know what world you live in, but those are rather extreme measures for not making any demand
