Thanks, I was just wondering why no one seemed interested in this question.
It's astounding to me. I thought for sure 'Billo' was telling a fib there. Nope.
17% Asian/Pacific Islander
29% White
53% Hispanic
66% American Indian/Alaska Native
73% Black
Average: 40.8% (33.2% in 2000, 18.4% in 1980). This declined slightly in 2010 from 2009 (41%, the highest percent ever measured). Rates for all demographics declined.
I thought this was interesting too: The proportions of nonmarital births varied widely across states. In 2010, the proportions were lowest in Utah, Colorado, and Idaho (ranging from 19% to 27%). At least one-half of all births were nonmarital in D.C., Louisiana, Mississippi, and New Mexico.
I believe this has a great impact on the black culture. I believe that any child from a baby, has the right to have both a Mom and a Dad.
Not saying that two gay people can't bring up a baby that i am not saying, i happen to know very good loving couples who are gay and bringing up children.
Too many in the black community, these girls from young ages, raising or not raising their children properly, and this is sad. The stats are unbelievable.
Over half of incarcerated Black men with children lived with those children before ... This is an important factor in the growth of female, single parent family structures. ... is fueled by mandatory sentencing laws, giving long sentences to fathers. ... from the increasing fragility of Black families in the wake of mass incarceration.
Every baby has a mom and a dad. That's how biology works. Marriage isn't essential to biology.
Statistics prove that children in single parent homes are much more likely to have far lower outcomes than children from 2 parent households
That is for all ethnicities, not just black..... don't think that your flippant attitude toward 2 parent homes is going to help things
Obviously, in a truly abusive home, mom has the right to leave, but it is flat out wrong to be selfish and just break up a family because it "is a little difficult and I want to party"
