An Islamic fundamentalists ultimate goal to adopt Sharia law globally. Next any European country, such as England or Belgium.

Sharia law means Jews and Christians would have to either convert or pay extra tax (Jizya) while atheists, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, gays will be persecuted or even killed.

Then gays, atheists, Jews, Christians, Hindus etc. should promptly leave, taking their money, business and ingenuity with them elsewhere.

The Sultan (of Swing) apparently thinks we should ALL unite under sharia law, as it "is a great achievement, and not a step backward."

Oh, ok.

Kind of like trading in my Fenix RC40 tactical flashlight for a Bic lighter is not a step backwards, either.

70% of the population is Muslim.
Ethnic Chinese are the largest minority group and despite having lived in Brunei for generations, most are not citizens. Brunei does not grant birth right citizenship and thus Chinese descendants are stateless.

Does this adoption include the Muslim prohibition of charging interest on loans?

Not a really big deal. It's a small country with a Muslim majority. I don't see any domino effect with Sharia law sweeping across the world despite what some alarmists say.

Like other places where Sharia is the law of the land it only applies to the unwashed masses. You can bet your last dollar that the Sultan and his billionaire cronies will play by a different set of rules.
