Another great Krugman column on the Republicon war against decency.

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/07/01/op...f=general&_r=0

'In fact, the Republicans controlling that government were so eager to cut off aid that they didn’t just reduce the duration of benefits; they also reduced the average weekly benefit, making the state ineligible for about $700 million in federal aid to the long-term unemployed'.

For people who claim to believe in God, they devote a lot of time, effort and money to evil. Sick.

The real war is on small businesses and employers. If Obama was just a fraction concerned about jobs as he with his green energy agenda unemployment wouldn't be an issue. People would have jobs and not need unemployment.

How would $100 million help? You know, the cost for Obama and family to go to Africa.

Obama Obama pledged $7 billion

Funny. Before Krugman became a bootlicker for Obama, you know, back when he acted like an economist from time to time, he knew that increasing unemployment benefits would result in higher unemployment. Now he's pretty sure that if we waste enough money, we can spend our way to prosperity.

After this, I'm surprised that anyone takes him seriously:

And that article is only the half of it. Consider all of the hiring managers and/or companies that refuse to hire the unemployed.

The War on the Unemployed is a whole lot more real than the War on Guns, that's for sure.

Default War on the Unemployed

Makes perfect sense.

The unemployed don't hire armies of lobbyists and lawyers to write legislation favorable to special interests. They don't make multimillion dollar political contributions. Today's GOP, being a wholly owned corporate subsidiary, would have no interest in their fate other than to limit funds for benefits which could instead go to tax cuts for the wealthy.

any time someone claims that there is a "war" being declared on a group, they cease to be taken seriously.

1. the war on drugs
2. the war on women
3. the war on christmas

it goes on and on, and is always viewed as a joke.

This thread is so funny. The DEMS do things to hurt the economy and job creation and when there is fallout they blame everyone else. Sm businesses don't his armies of lobbyists and lawyers either. Do you remember big business and unions being invited to the White House but no voice for small business.

This war is against sm business who you voted to raise taxes on. Big business who can hire armies of lawyers to get around Obama's tax increase. So Dems bite the hand that feeds you and your family and then expect them to be able to hire.

Continue to believe the Obama administration and liberal media and continue to get what you are getting.

What should be understood is that this is a problem that requires multiple actions to fix.

Does that include Obama's self proclaimed (or White House proclaimed) war on coal?

So how do you respond to the upward tick of the beveridge curve after the extension of unemployment to 99 weeks? How also do you respond to the fact that republicans donate 30% more to charities than democrats?
