Looks like the republicans are now trying to lower the minimum wage for people 20 and under in my state.
That will help them play for college.

That's already the law at the federal level, why didn't you complain about Obama not removing it?
U.S. Department of Labor - Wage and Hour Division (WHD) - Minimum Wage
Must young workers be paid the minimum wage?
A minimum wage of $4.25 per hour applies to young workers under the age of 20 during their first 90 consecutive calendar days of employment with an employer, as long as their work does not displace other workers. After 90 consecutive days of employment or the employee reaches 20 years of age, whichever comes first, the employee must receive a minimum wage of $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009.

Our minimum wage is only 11.25 and I thought that was too low.

After taxes what would 7.25 be? Good grief, you'd be better off begging on a street corner or collecting cans. Yikes.

Too low? Nobody stops you from paying extras when you buy your stuff.

Unless I'm at restaurant, they don't accept tips here. I can't even tip at Tim Hortons.

Now what?

What about rather than raising the wage as one ages, lowering it instead? Say by $1.00 from the baseline at which they were hired for every 3-5 years. That would allow people to enter the job market, learn about what it means to have a job - show up as scheduled, complete assigned tasks, etc - and as they age and make less then make good use of those acquired skills to move up elsewhere in a "real" job which presumably pays more than minimum. Let's give people an incentive to better themselves.

Senior citizens (over 65) would not be included in this.

An 18 and 19 year old are adults so they should be paid the same as adults. There was something that those under 18 could be paid less but not sure about now.

I just paid a guy $15 per hour to do various yard tasks around my house this last weekend, and so did my neighbor.

If you are making minimum wage, you really should consider doing something else.

The cheapest we've found a decent house cleaner is $20 per hour.

My brother used to work at a surveying firm that started their crew guys at $15 an hour. They had high turnover due to many quitting because it's too hot outside or they would show up late and/or drunk.

Here in Houston, it shows a rod person (the guy who holds the stick so the instrument man can shoot) makes an average of $37k. - Survey Rod Person Salary in Houston, TX | Indeed.com

I'm sorry, but if you can't learn to walk with a stick and hold it up straight, I just don't know what to tell you.

Same work should equal same pay. Age should have nothing to do with what someone is paid, at all.
