Ah, another Republican vs. Democrat post about who did what for who and when and why and how.

This country needs to get off it's sorry ass and take back individual liberty and constitutional protections under the bill of rights. The best thing any moderate, independent, libertarian could do is call out polarizing posts. I'm ashamed of falling into the same trap at times. I've decided to make a conscience effort to be pro-constitution and call out all of my representatives that vote to crush my rights.

In 1975 and 1979 he ran for state senate as a democrat. In 1988 he ran for prez as a Democrat. Later he tried to switch to the Republican party but was repudiated and told to go back to his natural home.

It's not a "deflection" to point out that of the 43 African-Americans currently serving in the House of Representatives, 43 are Democrats.
Unless, that is, you think history ended in 1964. You know, the year just prior to the one in which a Democratic President fought for, and won, the Civil Rights Act.
Didn't a Democrat Filibuster the Civil Rights Act?
The only currently serving black Senator is Tim Scott of South Carolina - Republican.
